Improving Your Vehicle's Reaction Time
Whenever your vehicle is moving, your engine is sending power down the driveshaft through your differential. As the differential reacts to shifts in power, the OE bushings mounting it to the frame are prone to flexing. This flexing reduces the efficiency of the differential's power transfer from the driveshaft to the wheels, resulting in slow accelerations and decelerations.
The reason the OE bushings flex is that they are made of rubber. In addition to flexing, rubber is also prone to wearing down due to contaminants and impacts. Prothane, on the other hand, offers solid polyurethane differential bushings. Polyurethane is much more durable than rubber, handling physical wear and chemical contamination with equal ease. In addition to the added durability, these bushings are also much firmer than rubber. Additionally, Prothane covers all of their differential bushings with a lifetime warranty handled in-house here at DST.

Installed these on my 2008 Outback XT. Apart from accessing the rear differential bushings with a big enough breaker bar, the rearmost bushings were quite easy to install. The forward two bushings do not fit on my model year so I cannot comment on those.\n\nFor a fraction of the cost of the equivalent Whiteline rear diff insert bushings, these bushings might be one of the best upgrades you can make on these older cars.\n\nThis seems to have fixed the front/back slop/shaking when accelerating or reversing, resulting in a much flatter and more planted feel. Highly recommended.

I was skeptical. Boy was I wrong. THIS is how a WRX should come stock from the factory. I installed this kit along with new swaybar endlinks & poly swaybar bushings & it became a totally different car. This really is one of the best bang for the buck mods you could do to any manual Subaru around. My smile was nonstop all day today. For reference my WRX has 64,000 miles on the clock so not much wear. This kit plus the swaybar hardware is A NIGHT & DAY DIFFERENCE. I couldnt IMAGINE how this would feel on a 100,000+ mile car...
