Prothane Package Deals
With a Prothane package deal, all of the bushings you need to completely revamp your suspension are included. Everything that Prothane offers for your vehicle, all together in one kit.
Prothane's polyurethane is a firmer bushing than the O.E. Not only does this increase the longevity of the bushing but gives the suspension a boost in handling performance. With a firmer bushing, there will be a slight increase in NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness), but the performance boost far outweighs this slight increase. Replacing the entirety of your suspension bushings maximizes your handling and ensures it stays that way for a long time.
Replacing the Faulty Rubber
O.E. Manufacturer's use soft rubber bushings when making a car. This is great for dampening noise and vibrations, but not so great for performance or longevity. Once the rubber fails, that quiet and smooth ride will fail as well. Rubber is prone to failure due to wear and tear, UV rays, road grimes, and vehicle oils.
Use Prothane's Super Grease
This package will come with Prothane's Super Grease to lubricate the bushings during installation. Its super important that you lubricate each bushing well to prevent any squeaking. So be sure to use more than enough lubricant when upgrade your suspension bushings. If you'd like some extra grease just in case, pick up an extra 3 pack.

If I had this to do again, I would purchase new control arms with bushings already installed. I am satisfied with the final result, but the added cost of purchasing new control arms would be justified by the time and effort saved.\n\nI would also suggest that the instructions further emphasize the use of adequate grease and suggest that sides of bushings and thrust washers get grease as well. Missing this point will result in disassembly to eliminate squeaks.\nEditors Note: Poly urethane bushings are more labor intensive because of the removal and installation steps you have to do. The correct grease and amount is very important. It is best to coat all of the bushing that comes into contact with metal with the grease. That is why you need to purchase extra grease to make sure you cover the bushing.

I was very impressed with this product, everything came in separate bags or boxes and was easily identified. The hardest thing to this project was getting the old rubber bushings out of the control arms. I heated the center metal sleeve with a propane torch and pulled it out first, then heated the outside case that the bushing sits in and pried it out with a screw driver. Afterward I cleaned out the housing with a wire brush attached to my drill. I only wish that they would add new sway bar mounts for the rear sway bar as they did for the front. This is a time consuming project, but well worth the time and effort. My 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee (ZJ) rides like new. I also added in new 2 inch spring spacers and bump stops by Daystar. All that red rubber looks really good under my ride.
