Prothane Total Kit 42010
What's Inside Prothane Bushings?
Soft factory rubber bushings on a performance vehicle are a terrible thing. The LX vehicles suspension deserves better. Prothane's polyurethane is a far better material for suspension bushings than rubber. The specific formula for each bushing combines the performance benefits of a firmer bushing, with the comfortable ride of soft bushings.
Items Included in 42010
This Total Kit is a polyurethane bushings replacement kit which includes:- Front Control Arm Bushing Kit
- Front Sway Bar Bushing Kit - 27mm, 30mm, 32mm
- Steering Rack Bushing Kit
- Differential Mount Bushings
- Rear Control Arm Bushing Kit
- Rear Sway Bar Bushing Kit
- Subframe Bushings
Front Control Arm Bushing Kit
Control arm bushings are extremely important to any vehicle, but even more so if you desire performance. The LX platform's control arm reported early failures of bushings around 20,000 miles. That is very poor quality for such a performance-based vehicle. Prothane's polyurethane control arm bushings will do away with the faulty stock rubber for good and increase the life of your control arms. The polyurethane bushings should increase your handling and decrease your stop time. This kit has been a big hit with many police vehicles as well! 4218 will include the bushings needed for the control arms.
Differential and Subframe Bushings
Tag teams are a good thing. In terms of your Dodge/Chrysler, the combination of the differential and the subframe can be a dynamic duo. Unfortunately for the first part of your ownership, the potential of this combo has not been released due to the soft factory rubber bushings. But now, you can unleash the beast that is your LX vehicle with Prothane's polyurethane differential, 41607 and subframe bushings, 4109. Replacing your soft rubber bushings with Prothane's performance will give you a better launch of the hole to decrease your quarter mile time. The bushings will keep your the bolts on the differential and subframe in line when put under heavy loads. And if that doesn't sound good enough to you, that wheel hop will be decreased as well.
Front and Rear Sway Bar Bushing Kit
Prothane includes three different size front sway bar bushings and one set for the rear to make sure that all LX bars are covered. Part numbers 41140, 41141, 41142 and 41139 sway bar kits will provide you with new polyurethane bushings to replace worn rubber bushings. Instead of having to remove the sway bar to slide the bushings to their mounting spot, Prothane has incorporated this split in the bushing to wrap over the bar. Using your OE mounts and bolt, mount the bracket to the frame and as you torque the bolts, the gap will disappear. The rear sway bar bushings include new zinc plated brackets with a 90-degree zerk grease fitting to easily re-grease the bushings as need. You'll want to measure your sway bar to be certain these will fit your specific bar. This kit also includes new end link bushings for a complete performance upgrade of your sway bar set up.
Steering Rack Bushings
The Total Kit would not be a true "complete" bushing replacement without bushings for the steering rack. 4702 includes all of the required bushings to replace the soft factory rubber in your steering rack. With the polyurethane bushings installed, your steering rack will be held snug in place to reduce any unwanted, excess movement or sway.
Rear Control Arm Bushing Kit
For the rear control arms, this Total kit includes 4220, each bushing position is covered with two half bushings and a metal inner sleeve. This rear control arm kit will completely replace the soft factory rubber bushings in your rear control arms, increasing your performance and protecting your control arms from costly repairs in the future.

Buying the Prothane Bushing Kit product was a bit cumbersome. Even though I was directed off the Prothane website to here. It took myself and a Customer Service specialist to figure out that the complete LX Kit (Dodge, Chrysler chassis designation) would have the wrong sway bar bushings for my R/T car. I was forced to buy the additional bushings and scrap the smaller (wrong) bushings that came in my kit. The Aftermarket Suspension Parts Customer Service Agent did intervene with the Ordering department and reduce my shipping charges slightly by including the new sway bar bushings (that I had to buy) in the same generic box to ship out to me. \nThe product came in this generic USPS box causing me to question whether indeed it was Prothane parts or had I been duped into buying knock offs. Really, you spend $500 and you dont get the Prothane box? The instructions were minimal, but this is Prothanes fault I am guessing. I did visit their website (Prothane) and received a little more info, however a complete step by step and much much better packaging and identification of the specific bushing could alleviate a lot of frustration.\nAs far as the Prothane bushings themselves, I have taken the car to a reputable shop who has installed the complete front end, (body and Rear End will be done later). Sifting through the box and matching the replacement parts was again frustrating for his staff as it was for me.\nThe car is back on the road now and the bushings have firmed up the ride a little as advertised. I am confident that the bushing products are quality and will last the lifetime of the car once completely installed. I am just not that happy with "how" I received them (generic USPS box, the sway bar bushing issue) and how little instructions actually come with the parts. Customer Service Rep was really nice and made up for the ordering departments lack of knowledge or enthusiasm. Still, I have more needs in suspension for this car , just not sold on the overall above process. Editors Note: To save the customer shipping costs we do not send the manufactures packaging at times. I assure all our customers you are receiving the brand that was ordered. Not some cheaper alternative or off brand.

I got this email as my wife was getting new tires install on our car I was called by dealership and was informed that the front bushings are bad.. I Drove to dealers shop and looked at the bushing! And they are bad all most gone! Im am not satisfied at all. I had these install one year ago by the dealership and now there gone. Not good. Lucky I did not do the back of the car. Ive got 14,000 miles out of these bushing. Editors Note: Called this customer about his issue. The dealership that installed the bushings did not follow the instructions. they removed the bushing with the outer shell instead of burning the rubber out. That is why the bushings failed. ALWAYS read the instructions.
